The Driftless Revelers have earned a dedicated cult following across the upper Midwest for their irreverent, highly original, and slightly psychedelic interpretation of American roots music. Seamlessly bridging the gap between early 1920s jazz, deep roots blues, and hillbilly string-band howlers, they view traditional music through a modern, delightfully strange lens.
Armed with a banjo running through a wah-pedal, a roaring resophonic steel guitar, and a booming upright bass, their live sets are a high-velocity party packed with stellar musicianship and brilliant, deadpan theatrical banter. Famously described as "string-based freak-folk," their energy has earned them comparisons to eccentric legends like Ween, They Might Be Giants, and Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show.
